September 12–13 — Festes de Sant Ferran de ses Roques

The annual Sant Ferran de ses Roques Festival takes place every year on September 12 and 13, as listed on the official tourism website of the Consell Insular de Formentera (formentera.es).

Sant Ferran is one of the island's most iconic villages. It is home to the legendary Fonda Pepe Bar, the famous meeting place of the international hippie community during the 1960s, as well as the workshop of master guitar maker Ekki Hoffmann, where musicians from around the world come to build handcrafted guitars.

Throughout the celebrations, the village square becomes the heart of the festivities, featuring traditional church services, performances of the historic Ball Pagès folk dance in authentic costumes, live concerts and music that continues late into the evening.

September 19–20 — Second Sant Ferran Celebration and Sporting Events

The official Formentera events calendar also lists a second celebration in Sant Ferran on September 19 and 20, usually accompanied by sporting activities.

These dates often coincide with local sailing regattas or maritime events connected with the nearby fishing village and harbour of Es Caló, located just a few minutes from Sant Ferran.

September 21 — Island-Wide Cultural Event

The third week of September traditionally features a major cultural event involving different locations across the island.

In 2025, the programme included an exhibition by local artists together with an open-air concert in the main square of Es Pujols.

The complete schedule for 2026 is expected to be published on the official Formentera tourism website during the second half of August.

Live Music Throughout September

September is also one of the best months to enjoy live music in Formentera.

Every Tuesday evening, local musicians perform in the square at Es Pujols, while every Thursday the World Music Festival brings international artists and world music performances to Plaza de Europa.
